You can evaluate a range of webpage creation tools - which one will be best for you to use? Then follow specific intructions to create your own basic five page website from your choice of Word, PowerPoint, Publisher or Dreamweaver.


5 page basic website



Ape with laptopFollow the guidelines to create your own basic website using the tool you feel is most appropriate. You can use these starter guides to gain the confidence to extend your knowledge and understanding further as you see how easy it is to create a website.

Currently the guide isn't quite finished (the Publisher section is still to be completed) but when it has been, the full guide will be available in .pdf, .doc and Flashpaper format.

For now, you can explore the different sections of the guide using the online Flashpaper guidance:





Introduction - evaluation of Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Dreamweaver. Examination of the advantages and disadvantages of each when creating webpages.
   
Your evaluation of the different programs - complete an interactive diagram covering your choice of program - which program will you use to create a website and why?
   
Using Word - follow the instructions to create a basic 5-page website using standard features of Microsoft Word. Create a homepage together with four hyperlinked sub-pages.
   
Using PowerPoint - follow the instructions to create a basic 5-page website using standard features of Microsoft PowerPoint. Makes use of slides for the 5 different pages.

Using Publisher - not currently available.
   
Macromedia Dreamweaver - in-depth intructions helping you create your own five page website using Dreamweaver. Covers 'set-up', design, creation and uploading.
